The exhibition encounter in the United States seems to have been organised on the blind side of the sports ministry. The international friendly between Ghana and Canada slated for October 13 has taken an interesting twist after the Ghana Sports Ministry revealed they are in the dark over the game. The Black Stars are set to face the Canucks at the RFK Stadium in Washington on Tuesday as part of preparations for the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers which return in November. However, the match seems to be moving from one trouble to another - player withdrawals, injuries problems and visa acquisitions - particularly on the part of the Black Stars. �We at the ministry were not notified officially by the FA of this friendly game for the senior national team of the state,� deputy Sports Minister, Vincent Oppong Asamoah told Ultimate FM. �We have accordingly registered our displeasure officially with the Football Association. �I can imagine how the media would have dealt with the ministry if it had been the other way round.� With four days to the game, coach Avram Grant is as yet to release an official squad list for the encounter. According to the communications director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saanie Daara, the delay has been due to problems in securing travelling visas for the players involved, not overlooking injury situations. The Black Stars have been hit with a series of injuries and subsequent player withdrawals with news that deputy captain Andre Ayew, Christian Atsu and Rabiu Mohammed are set to miss the game. Skipper Asamoah Gyan was the first to be ruled out following an injury suffered while playing for his club Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese League last month. Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey had announced return after 16-month absence from the national set-up, but latest reports indicate the shot-stopper has asked for permission to be excused from the game.
