Internet Lover Girl Arrested

A 20-year-old senior high school (SHS) graduate has been arrested for swindling her lover.

The suspect, who told her lover she is called Abigail Asiedu, is noted for luring high-profile men through social media and then robbing them of their cars.

Speaking to the press about her arrest, the Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, stated that the suspect on August 30 met her victim at Pig Farm, where they both decided to go to a nearby hotel for relaxation.

According to him, while in the hotel room, Abigail sneaked out with her victim’s car keys. However, after a while, the complainant became suspicious and decided to follow up.

When he got out, to his dismay, his new lover and Ford 4X4 pick-up were gone. Suspecting foul play, the complainant immediately reported the matter to the police.

During police investigations, it was discovered that Abigail and her accomplice, one Bashiru Ishmael, have been arrested by the Baatsona, Klagon and Dowenya police this year for using the same mode to snatch a Honda Civic CRV, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry from other victims.

All the vehicles have been retrieved except the Toyota Camry with registration number GT-694-10.

It was also unearthed that Abigail used multiple names to swindle her targets. However, a search by the police about her identity from relations exposed her real name to be Habiba Abubakar.

Abigail has since confessed to the crimes. She also stated that Ishmeal Bashiru is her boyfriend, and named one Nuru Adams as the receiver of the stolen vehicles.

When Abigail led the police to Adam’s residence in Ashiaman, he was nowhere to be found, but when the police contacted him on phone, he abandoned the stolen vehicle on the Tema Motorway and fled.
