A 24-year old teacher was on Tuesday remanded into lawful custody by an Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defiling a 15 year old girl at Antieku, near Anyaa in Accra.
Paul Nana Opoku charged with defilement, pleaded not guilty.
Opoku is expected to reappear on November 3.
Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said complainant is a trader and mother of victim. Complainant, victim and accused person reside in the same area.
Inspector Atimbire said on August 19, this year, the complainant sent the victim on an errand. On her way, the victim met Opoku who lured her into his room and had sex with her.
The prosecutor said the following day; prosecution said the victim informed her mother about the ordeal she went through in the hands of her school teacher.
According to the prosecutor, the school teacher informed victim’s mother and a report was lodged with the Police.
The Police issued a medical form to the victim for examination and treatment.
When Opoku was nabbed, he denied the offence in his caution statement.
