Filth played a major role in the Flood and Fire Disaster that rocked Ghana on June 3rd, 2015. To allay fears of facing the same predicament in future, Zoomlion Ghana Limited a waste company operator has intensified efforts to keep the nation clean.

As part of a panel on TV3 to discuss 'the impact of poor sanitation on public health', Mr. Robert Coleman, Communications Manager for Zoomlion revealed that as part of ensuring that their operations ends on an effective note, they always work closely with Environmental Health Officers anytime they tackle waste collection.

He further explained that after the June 3rd disaster, they have divided their workers in groups to make sure choked drains are desilted to allow the free flow of waste water.

The wastes collected are properly disposed to avert future disasters, he added. “We would continue to do this until Ghana is made clean”, he vowed.

To demonstrate how Zoomlion ensures waste collected are not left on the shoulders of gutters, Mr. Robert Coleman explained that “when companies, corporate institutions and communities write to us to help them in clean up exercises, we attend such functions with our compacting waste truck, equipped laborers and workers and the disinfestations team to ensure the work we do is on point”.

Aside this, he claims the company places waste containers in various communities and dispatch trucks there to collect the waste. “Our trucks go to the communities every morning and at time twice in a week to collect the waste”, he said.
