Lawyer for one of the Judicial Service staff implicated in the recent corruption scandal exposed by Anas and his Tiger Eye PI firm, Egbert Faibille, has filed a writ in the Human Rights Division of the High Court raising legal objections to members of the Tiger Eye team’s wearing of thick beady veils to conceal their identity when they appear before the committee investigating the matter.
According to the lawyer all the three members of Tiger PI looked like extra terrestrials because of thick beady veils which they had worn as extension to hoods which covers their head and ears.
The plaintiff is however seeking a declaration that by reason of Article 17 of the 1992 Constitution, Plaintiff is entitled to cross examine 4th, 5th and 6th Defendants and/or any staff or agent of 3rd Defendant who appears before 2nd Defendant or any other committee set up by 1st Defendant without the aforementioned having any hood and/or veil covering any part of their facial region.
The plaintiff , Gabriel Achana argued that because of the so-called Anas Tapes/Recordings having been shown to the public at the Accra International Conference Centre and subsequent media commentaries on same with most commentators and members of the public declaring all those seen in the video recordings ‘guilty,’ 2nd Defendant, acting as agent of 1st Defendant has become so prejudiced to the extent that it does not want to offer Plaintiff his right to cross examine the maker(s) of the videos without any veil or hood on their faces.
