Minister�s Dispatch Rider Dies in Crash

A dispatch rider with the Ashanti Regional Police Command  Lance Coporal Kwaku Duah who led the Ashanti Regional Minister Peter Anarfi Mensah to the commissioning of the Tweapease Health Center at Amansie central has crashed to death on the Oda bridge when they were returning to Kumasi.

Speaking to Ultimate news, a journalist with Shaft FM Daasebre Kojo Antwi  explained that after the regional minister had finished commissioning the refurbished health center, the team decided to follow the regional minister to Adwira to represent President John Mahama on another project.

According to him, on reaching Ahwiankwanta the police dispatch rider collided with a trotro urvan bus which was coming from the opposite direction.

 ‘The motor rider leading us crashed with a trotro and unfortunately sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the Bekwai government hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,’ he disclosed.

He disclosed that after witnessing the lifeless body on the ground, the regional minister continued with his journey to Adwira while other members of his entourage rushed him to the hospital.

The Ashanti regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Deputy Police Commander DSP Charles Ahiamale confirmed that the body has been conveyed to  Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary but refused to give details about the accident unless the family of the deceased is informed about the sudden death.

The police administration is yet to officially comment on the matter.
