Ekumfi MP's Smear Campaign Against Opponent Fails

In a desperate attempt to tilt the scale of support and preference being enjoyed by Chief Hamilton Nixon Biney in Ekumfi towards the NDC's upcoming parliamentary primaries, the sitting MP Hon. Abeiku Crenstil has resorted to mudslinging and name tagging of his opponent in the constituency.

Hon. Abeiku appears to have lost the grounds to the relatively young, affable and grassroot man Chief Biney and is reported as going round in the villages to vilify the latter with a damning propaganda that Mr. Biney who was a personal assistant to the regional minister fell out with the minister because he signed the Minister's check without
his knowing and again he (Chief Biney) is not even a Ghanaian but of Nigerian descent.

But in an interview with Chief Biney to ascertain the veracity of the allegations leveled against his person he out-rightly dismissed it and described it as frivolous, unfounded and a gasping for a last breath attempt by the MP (Hon. Crenstil) to save his seat.

He said, the issue of his nationality coming up again is completely absurd to say the least because the late president Mills' own father, a true native of the land had debunked that earlier when that cheap campaign started. On the other leg, "I can tell you for a fact and this is verifiable because the minister is still around, am stating on authority that nothing like that happened. In fact i have Hon. Quansah's full blessing in this endeavor".

"In any case he(hon. Crenstil) is the one who has credibility issues when he lied to the NDC vetting committee in 2012 about his certificate from Takoradi polytechnic which turned out to be false but I am not even interested in that kind of politics", he added.

He said, the Team Biney (TB) campaign is respecting all the rules laid down by the party and would not descend into the gutters with opponents.

"We are also aware of the fact that some executives including the constituency secretary Edward Acquah, youth organizer Nurudeen Otoo, the DCE and the presiding member of the assembly are all on the grounds campaigning for the incumbent against the rules set by the party and besides they are peddling lies that government has not been releasing funds that’s why the MP hasn’t done much.

"We have remained focus with our campaign to bring development to Ekumfiman and to create jobs for the youth and that’s all we care about and I believe that's what the NDC delegates are going to count on to vote massively for me".

"As for the matter of the MP lying to the constituents that he is not getting his common fund and that's why he can't do projects in the constituency, that is his own matter because other MPs are getting their funds and doing projects in their constituency and the delegates are well aware of this fact that's why they will vote Chief Biney to bring them the needed change and development in the constituency", he stressed.
