The Whole Electoral Processes Were FlawedI Leave The Matter To God - E.T. Mensah

Defeated Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Enoch Teye Mensah has attributed his defeat in the fiercely contest described as “David and Goliath” with Samuel George to the electoral processes used to conduct the elections.

According to him, the whole electoral processes were mapped out in a way to affect his stronghold as the delegates he knew were going to vote for him were not allowed to vote and others were also forced to vote in a certain direction.

Hon. E.T. Mensah who had 2,831 votes representing 36.5 percent of valid votes cast said on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show that apart from the fact that the names of the delegates in his strongholds were not in the register, the three hour late start of the election prevented his supporters from voting eventually.

In all the intimidations meted out against his supporters, Hon. E.T. Mensah blamed it on the security agencies who observed unconcern while multiple voting were allowed to go on for Sam George.

“The whole electoral processes were also flawed and the game being played was to tell the delegates in my stronghold that their names were not in the register. They started the voting three hours late and they know what they did because in the end, many people were not allow to vote….the Regional Chairman was there and he was verbally assaulted. The police stood there unconcerned; the police knew the place was a flash point because they identified 5 flash points and informed the security agencies accordingly before they went in there,” he bemoaned.

He has averred that his team is compiling all the unfortunate incidents which occurred during the primaries at Ningo Prampram for the Election Committee of his party to address them accordingly; stressing that these electoral malpractices should not be allowed to continue in the 21st century.

He therefore prayed the Election Committee of his party put things in order as they present their case before the committee; reiterating that he will leave the case to God if nothing positive comes out.
