Court Acquits & Discharges Ekow Micah

An Accra Circuit Court has acquitted and discharged Reggae Musician Lester Ekow Micah.

Ekow Micah was arrested by the Police for allegedly possessing a substance believed to be marijuana in his apartment.

His case was pending before an Accra Circuit Court.

Case

The case of Ekow Micah started with media reports that one Sarah Kwabla had accused Asamoah Gyan of sodomizing her.

He was arrested by the Police for being an accomplice and aiding the lady in question to extort money from Asamoah Gyan.

In the course of investigations, Ekow Micah's apartment was ransacked and the Police arraigned him before the court for allegedly possessing a substance believed to be "wee".

Court Ruling

The defense counsel denied the charge that his client was caught in possession of narcotic drug without lawful authority.

According to Peace FM's Reporter Agya Kwabena, Counsel for the accused prayed the court to discharge his client over claims that the substance may have been planted in the musician's apartment, following his involvement in Ghana's striker Asamoah Gyan's scandal

The judge presiding over the case pronounced Ekow Micah, who was being held over a drug related offence, a free man on Monday, November 30.
