Huawei Transforms Accra Main Library Into A State Of The Art Facility

To complete the second phase of renovation works on the Accra Library, Huawei Technologies Ghana has refurbished the Children’s library and exhibition hall and handed it over to the Accra Main Library Authority.

Until Huawei decided to renovate the facility, it had been in a deplorable state making learning difficult for children.

But on 7th July, 2014, Huawei and the Ghana Library Authority signed a memorandum of understanding where Huawei agreed to renovate the reference, lending rooms and the computer room.

To honour the promise, Huawei, on 17th December 2014, handed over a refurbished reference and lending rooms as well as an ICT room stocked with 30 computers.

And to add up to the work they have done, the company decided to enter into phase 2 agreement with the library authorities.

This phase of the project would see the renovation and refurbishment of the Children’s Library into a state of the art library capable of serving the diverse needs of children.

To make it possible, Huawei invested over GHS 500,000 into the phase two project. The project is aimed at making learning easier for children who study there.

According to Managing Director of Huawei, Russell Xu, “Huawei is a responsible corporate citizen that is committed to contributing significantly to the development of communities and people in the regions where we operate.
