North Tongu Is a No Go Area For NPP - Okudzeto Ablakwa

Member of Parliament for North Tongu in the Volta Region as well as Deputy Minister for Education in-charge of Tertiary Education, Okudzeto Ablakwa has stated with no doubt that there is no way that New Patriotic Party(NPP) would win the parlimentary seat in the constituency due to his achievements for the past 3 years in the constituency.

"...North Tongu is a massive world bank for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) party, so there is no way NPP would have votes over the NDC in the constituency next year, infact they should forget that believe," he said.

He said it was quit unfortunate that a disqualified candidate, Christopher Kofi Elebu have made allegations against him for masterminding his removal at the vetting committee level because he knows he would win over him should he contest for the primaries.

"This is untrue because members of the vetting committee are well-grounded individuals with much experience on the job, who can never be influenced."

Hon. Okudzeto stated that, it would be mathematically impossible for Mr. Eleblu to win him as he claims because he won in his own traditional area with a huge margin.

"Had it not been the rules and regulations of the party I would have wished him to be part of this race, if I had my own ways," he added.

The overall certified total turn-out by the Electoral Commission (EC) he said was about 70% which he would not call a low turn-out as most media houses have reported, because national election world-wide recognizes 70% vote cast as high turn-out.
