Kofi Tagare, a trader in his early 20s, standing trial for alleged armed robbery, in which, the victim was killed, was on Thursday remanded in prison custody by a circuit court in Kumasi. He pleaded not guilty and would re-appear before court on September 23. Armed robbers killed Prince Sarbah while driving a Toyota Corolla and took away the vehicle at Patase in Kumasi. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Albert Odei-Quansah told the court presided over by Mr Adjei Frimpong that early January this year, the robbers shot and killed the victim and drove away in his car. Prosecution said about six months later Tagare was spotted where Sarbah was killed and some residents who suspected that he was on robbery mission arrested and handed him over to the Police. ASP Odei-Quansah said an imported pistol with six rounds of ammunition was found when a search was carried out on Tagare at the Kumasi Central Police Station. Prosecution told the court that the exhibits would be sent to the Police forensic laboratory in Accra for examination. The court asked the Police to expedite action on investigations for quick disposal of the case.
