An uncontrollable fire is spreading wide through the Achimota Forest – according to eye witnesses who spoke to Peacefmonline.com a short while ago.
According to their narrative, the inferno started a few minutes after midday.
It is however not clear what caused the fire but reports says the police, fire service personnel and volunteers have teamed up in an effort to put out the blazing inferno.
The fire is said to be heading towards the Achimota Police Station and houses close to the security outpost.
Kumasi and Accra in the past 48 hours have recorded several fire outbreaks and it is feared that more of such incidents could occur during this harmattan condition.
