THE LEADER of M-1 Band, Ransford Kenya, aka Rasty Kenya, has called on Ghanaian musicians to contribute toward the re-introduction of live band music.
Rasty Kenya, who is the brains behind live band music on Oman FM, said bringing back live band music would help young musicians learn to play instruments and also learn from other bands men.
Speaking to BEATWAVES, the young musician, who began his career at the age of 12 in Cote D�Ivoire, said since he became a musician he has worked with a number of bands in the country and believes that with live band music, Ghanaian music stands the chance of competing with those already on the market.
He disclosed that at the age of 20 he joined Musical Box, based in Takoradi, where he performed a number of gigs with the band for two years.
He later joined the Western Diamonds band, led by Ebow Coker, for a couple of months. Between 2001 and 2002, Rasty Kenya performed alongside Amakye Dede�s Appollo High King.
In 2006, he formed his own group, Abizabiz Band, which is the resident band on Oman FM.
The band performs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2pm to 4pm on Oman FM.
Currently, Rasty Kenya, who is behind M-1 which participated in TV3�s Band Alive, is working on his maiden album titled, �Na Wo Anka�.
