Below Is The Full Press Release From Awutu-Senya East Municipal Assembly:

HON. ADAMS KOFI NUHU IS NOT A LEGALLY CONFIRMED MCE (AWUTU-SENYA EAST CONSTITUENCY)

We 9 out of 13 elected assembly members of a Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly have noted with great concern the impunity with which illegalities are being perpetrated at the Assembly.

The political head of the outfit, Hon. Adams Kofi Nuhu (the supposed MCE) has not been legally confirmed in accordance with section 20 (1) of the local government act 1993 (Act 463).

Following the creation of Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly in 2012, he ought to have been confirmed by the new Assembly. But this was not done. When he was queried over the issue, his (MCE’s) response was that he was transferred.

We have searched through the local government act and there is no section that talks of the transfer of an MCE. We are very much worried as the MCE also doubles as the chairman of the Municipal Security council (MUSEC).

The question is, should we allow an illegitimate occupant of the seat of MCE be in charge of thei security of the Municipality?
In accordance with the above, we wish to state categorically that;

1.Until a vivid official clarification of the issues mentioned above is made available from the appropriate authority, Hon. Adams must stay off from any assembly sanctioned activity.

2.Hon. Adams must disassociate himself from the post of MCE with immediate effect.

3.If the above issues are not addressed, we may have to result to legal action, to do the needful.

Thank you for your attention and co-operation.
