NPP Launches Retail Campaign In Subin

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Subin, the heart of Kumasi, has launched its campaign for this year’s election with the prime target of reaching out to every eligible voter to help the NPP increase its votes significantly in the constituency in both the presidential and parliamentary polls.

Eugene Boakye Antwi, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Subin, described the party’s campaign strategy for 2016 as “Retail Campaign,” indicating that every voter would be briefed on the NPP’s vision of ending the NDC’s bad governance which has impoverished the masses.

He said gone are the days when the NPP embarked on flashy or what he also termed as “wholesale” electoral campaigns which couldn’t secure the NPP the votes needed to win the elections, stressing that the NPP has done its homework and really means business this time.

As part of the new campaign strategy, Mr Boakye Antwi said NPP executives would visit churches, mosques, homes, markets and lorry parks, among other places, and explain Nana Akufo-Addo’s and the NPP’s vision to transform Ghana to the electorates.

He was addressing a mammoth crowd that attended the Subin NPP Campaign Launch for election 2016 on Saturday. The event was graced by ex-Subin MP S.K. Boafo, Sam Pyne and Stephen Amoah, who are the Ashanti Regional NPP Secretary and Organiser respectively.

He observed with concern that the NDC’s votes at Subin Constituency had been appreciating over the last two polls, noting that the NPP’s new campaign strategy would also lead to a massive reduction in the NDC’s votes in Subin which is considered as one of the NPP’s strongholds.

Mr Boakye Antwi, who was once the NPP UK branch secretary, said the NPP seeks to increase its votes in the constituency from 50,000 in 2012 to a staggering 65,000 out of the over 82,000 voter population in the constituency this year.

He stressed on the need for all NPP members in the constituency to unite and campaign vigorously so that the party’s ambition of increasing its votes during the upcoming elections would be achieved, adding that Nana Akufo-Addo would be president of Ghana in 2016.

As part of strengthening the Subin NPP Campaign, the Constituency Campaign Committee has also set up an Advisory Committee comprising S.K. Boafo, Alhaji Baba Abdulai, George Ayisi Boateng, Madam Winifred Addai and Mrs Mavis Adjei-Tawiah to steer the 2016 constituency campaign team in the right direction.

S.K. Boafo, who is an ex-Ashanti Regional Minister, commended Eugene Boakye Antwi for his commitment to increasing the NPP’s votes in the constituency, appealing to NPP members in the area to unite and collectively campaign to win more votes for the party.
