PPP Consoles NPP

Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has expressed its deepest condolence to the leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the family of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, Hon. J.B. Danquah Adu, who met his untimely death in the hands of some unknown assailant(s) at his residence at Shiashie, Accra on Tuesday dawn, February 9, 2016.

Describing the death of the late MP, as a blow to “our democracy,” the PPP in a statement issued and copied to Today yesterday expressed worry about the security situation in the country.

The statement which was signed by the party’s National Secretary, Murtala Mohammed, indicated that it was very disturbing for an MP to lose his life under such bizarre circumstances.

“We implore the police and the security services to expedite investigations to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book. It is our hope that the police will not be distracted by the political machination or political commentary that will seek to score political points or otherwise,” the statement said.

It urged the police to treat this crime professionally in order to expose the perpetuators.

The statement lamented that the police had not given “us much comfort in the past in their ability to resolve such murders. Criminals are getting away and the police must act to assure the citizens of our security”.

To this end, the PPP asked  friends and family of the late MP TO   remain calm and allow the police to complete their investigation.
