Ntoso Tasked To Ensure Safety Of Women And Children

Madam Helen Adjoa Ntoso, the Volta Regional Minister, has been tasked to ensure the safety and peace of women and children in the upcoming general election in November.

This followed her appointment as “Ambassador of Women and Peace” by Golden Mothers Vision International, a non-governmental organisation.

The appointment is in recognition of her love for issues concerning women and children and her approach to addressing their concerns.

In a memorandum of understanding, Madam Ntoso agreed to use her office to promote unity, love, and respect among the citizenry and provide opportunities to enhance the wellbeing of women and children.

Mrs Natasha Hayford Aggrey, Chief Executive Officer, Golden Mothers Vision International, in a speech read on her behalf, commended Madam Ntoso in her approach in rescuing children from ‘galamsey’ sites in the Eastern Region.

She described the Minister as “Mother for all” and urged her to continue to lift the banner of women high.

Reverend Eugene Opoku Ayeh, Board Chairman, Golden Mothers Vision International, urged Madam Ntoso to champion peace in the November elections and refrain from campaign messages that could cause disunity.

Madam Ntoso said she was happy the award was related to peace and gave assurance of her readiness to work for peace in the elections.

She was given a citation and an art work depicting the love of a mother.

In December last year, Madam Ntoso picked the Female African Peace Ambassador award in Dubai and was declared Regional Minister for 2015 in January by the West Africa International Magazine.
