Klottey Korle Re-run . . . NPPs Interest Paramount

A New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) Parliamentary aspirant in the upcoming Klottey Korle Constituency primary in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Adjei Tawiah ahead of the February 27, 2016 re-run of the disputed primary, has urged his colleague aspirants to place the party’s interest above individual ambitions.

Describing the decision of the party executive to call for re-run as a mixed feeling, he explained that he is happy to have the opportunity to go for a re-run but at the same time sad that NPP had to undergo such turbulence before the proper and right thing is being done.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Mr. Adjei Tawiah pleaded with all aspirants to go about the election with the interest of the party at the center and above personal ambition.

He has therefore vowed not to apportion blame to anyone since none of the aspirants organized the primary to elect a parliamentary candidate; thus it is baseless to continue to finger the party’s executives in the dispute in the constituency as they have realized they didn’t do their work well have called for re-run.

….I will plead with all aspirants to go about the election with the interest of the party at the center and above personal ambition…if the party has realized it didn’t do its work well and has organized a re-run, we should leave it this way,” he urged.

Touching on his preparedness for the re-run, Mr. Tawiah said he is fully prepared for the primary as he foresees a win after the election due to his previous roles he has played in the party and his several contest for the parliamentary candidature in the constituency.

He therefore ascribed himself as the “incumbent” for the candidature because he is not a fresher in the contest for the parliamentary slot for Klottey Korle as compare to Philip Addison and Nii Noi Nortey who are contesting the candidature for the first time.
