Good Leadership Require More Than Anointing - Minister

The Archdeacon of the Akosombo Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, Venerable Michael  T. Asiedu  has said that, “one require more than anointing to be a good leader”.

He explained that a leader is that fellow who when he call, his congregation or  constituents  would respond  appropriately and so if “ you do not have a good character, when you call your people would not respond”

Venerable Asiedu therefore urged young ordained  Ministers  to take  time to build good characters in dealing with their congregation, to enable them to command the necessary respect  to support them in the Ministry.

Venerable Asiedu was preaching the sermon at the ordination of two young ministers, at Nuaso St John Anglican Church, near Kpong.

The Church started 86 years ago, experienced its first ordination with the two priest, since the introduction of Anglicanism in the community.

The two priests, Rev. Micheal T. Weledji, a pharmacist  and Rev Ebenezer Nadutey were ordained into the diaconate of the Anglican Church by the Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church , Very Rev.  Francis Benjamin Quashie.

Venerable Asiedu said the Anglican Church is now ordaining a lot of young men into the priesthood to take over from the aging ones and urged the two new priests not to fail the Church.

He charged them to be committed to God, the Church and their families and they would be successful.

Venerable Assiedu  challenged the congregation to support the two new young priests to succeed.
