Mr James Christian Adu, Managing Director of Peace Indo-Ghana Limited, has appealed to the government to reconsider the high taxes paid by businesses to enable them to stay in business.

He said the high taxes and the electricity tariffs were crippling manufacturing companies and strongly urged government to do something about it.

 Mr Adu made the appeal when the members of the Socio-Economic Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs visited the soap and detergents company.

The tour dubbed: “Landlord/Tenant Relationship”, was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, Paramount Chief and President of the Osu Traditional Council.

Other members of the entourage were Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, Ada Mantse and the President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs; Osongaah Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse; Nene Atsure Benta III, the Acting President of Prampram; and Nene Kanor Atiapah, the Acting President of the Ningo Traditional Council.

Nii Kinka Dowuona, who spoke on behalf of the chiefs, said the House of Chiefs were not only concerned with solving chieftaincy disputes, but  were also  concerned about the welfare of society.
