KNUST Knife Attackers Identified

The brains behind last Sunday’s knife attack on two students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been identified.

They have been named as Michael Ofori Boadu alias Cyborg, a fourth year English student and Nat Wiafe Mensah, a third year Agribusiness Management student.

Boadu of Unity Hall has since turned himself in and has been detained at the campus cells pending further investigations. Mensah is said to be on the run.

Students of Unity Hall have described Boadu’s detention as unfair and have initiated a protest.

The University Relations Officer, Vincent Ankamah Lomotey told Graphic Online that the university has constituted an internal committee to investigate the issue and come out with appropriate recommendations.

At a press conference on Thursday President of the Student Representative Council, Isaac Boakye Nyamekye said the two injured students were back on campus embarking on academic activities.

While confirming that there was rivalry between the two halls, he insisted it was mainly academic and not barbaric.

It would be recalled that last Sunday and Monday respectively two students of the University Hall and the Unity Hall were attacked in a reprisal attacks and were admitted to the KNUST Hospital.
