What Will GHC100, 000 Do To Kintampo Accident Survivors? Wontumi Rubbishes Mahama's Support

About 61 people perished in an accident involving a Metro Mass Transit bus and a cargo truck carrying tomatoes last Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the Tamale-bound Metro Mass bus and Accra-bound truck loaded with tomatoes from Burkina Faso collided head-on the Kintampo-Tamale highway.

At least 23 passengers survived the accident and are receiving treatment at the Techiman Government Hospital, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Sunyani Government Hospital and the Holy Family Hospital in Sunyani.

However, President John Mahama on Sunday promised to give GHC 100, 000 to the survivors when he visited the survivors at the hospital on Sunday and presented assorted items to aid their recovery.

But Ashanti regional chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has rubbished the president’s gesture – “What will GHC 100, 000 to them [Survivors]? They were suffering whiles alive and the president did nothing. Will he [President Mahama] also give the dead their share of the money?” he asked on Neat FM's 'Ghana Montie' programme Monday.
