President Mahama while presenting his State of the Nation’s Address in Parliament today asked his aide "get me those extra papers I gave you . . .”

The President made this remark while he was paying tribute to the late Joseph Boakye Danquah Jnr who was murdered a couple of weeks ago in cold blood.

The scene was almost reminiscent of what occured last year when he officially opened the 47th Ordinary session of ECOWAS.

Addressing his fellow heads of state during the opening session, President Mahama, at the tail end of his speech as the out-going ECOWAS Chair, faced a little challenge as he realized that most of the pages in the script he was reading from were not in order.

“Where is my speech…I am missing certain pages in my speech…,” he said openly.

It is not clear what the President was referring to on Thursday morning, but the response he received, obviously from the aide was; “it was not part of the speech”.

Delivering his last SoNA in his first term to Parliament, President Mahama described the slain Abuakwa North MP as a fine gentleman who walked away from every conversation with a smile.

According to him, the late MP's absence in the august House will be both seen and felt.

"Ghana has lost a true son," he said and called on Parliament to observe a minute silence in the deceased's honour.
