Afia Schwarzenegger Blasts Ghanaians For Making Fun of Abraham Attah
15-year-old Ghanaian International child actor Abraham Attah has being trending on social media for some time now after his Oscars appearance.
Abraham has achieved instant stardom with his maiden movie role in "Beast of No Nation", wining several international Movie awards.
Attah Abraham first won the Marcello Mastroianni’s Best Young Actor Award at the 2015 Venice Film Festival and won Best Male Lead for ‘Beasts Of No Nation’, at the 2016 Independent Spirits Awards. These award, many popular actors and actresses in Ghana haven’t even had dreams of ever winning.
Abraham was also invited to present an award at the just ended Oscars 2016 and instead of perhaps celebrating the young boy's achievement which most of the big movie stars in Ghana have not been able to attain, many people rather took to Twitter to make fun of his accent used in his speech on stage at the Spirits Awards.
However, Radio /TV personality Afia Schwarzenegger and others have come to the defense of Abraham. Afia wrote "It is only Ghana that one's ability to command the queen's language is linked to intelligence Hun whether your grammar is good or not ..you have made history(1st Ghanaian to win spiritaward)...let those that speak impeccable English show us what their grammar won outside Africa!!! Can u imagine grownups picking on a 15 year old Ashaiman boy...shame on them! Congratulations [email protected]".
