Jake Was A �Pillar� Of Advertising In Ghana - AAG

The Advertising Association of Ghana [AAG] has expressed their condolence to the family of former NPP National Chairman, Jake Okanta Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Mr Joel Nettey, the President of the association noted that Jakes’ death is a “shock” to the advertising fraternity in Ghana and worldwide.

He described Jake as the “Pillar” of advertising in Ghana – “He was recognized around the world for the pioneering role he played in several advertising campaigns notable among which were several behavior change interventions.”

Tributes have been pouring in for the late Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey who was a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a past National Chairman for the party.

He died in London in the early hours of Sunday.

The Advertising Association of Ghana and indeed the entire advertising fraternity in Ghana and across the world has been thrown into a state of shock at the news of the sudden passing of one of the giants of the profession – Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Jake, was one of the founding pillars of Advertising in Ghana. He begun his career in Lintas West Africa and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Managing Director of Lintas Ghana and Afromedia Ltd for many years.

He was recognised around the world for the pioneering role he played in several advertising campaigns notable among which were several behavior change interventions.

He was indeed the first President and one of the founders of the Advertising Association of Ghana in its current form.

His sudden demise is a monumental loss to the advertising fraternity.

The Executive Council and the entire membership of the Advertising Association of Ghana extend deepest condolences to Jake’s family on the loss of this great Ghanaian.

May his soul, rest peacefully in the Lord.
