ABL Celebrates Long Service Staff

As part of efforts to build a high performing talent pool, Accra Brewery Limited, (ABL), recently at its End of year and Long Service Awards ceremony honoured 27 employees who have over the years contributed to its vision of being the most admired beverage company in Ghana.

The reward which included citations and cash rewards were presented to employees who have served the company between 10 to 35 years across the finance, technical, operations and sales departments.

Mr. Anthony Grendon, Managing Director of ABL in his remarks at the ceremony commended the awardees for their admirable service which had contributed to the growth of the business over its 85 years of operations in Ghana. He encouraged employees to be ambassadors of the brewery’s sustainable development drive. And stated ‘in our bid to bring refreshment and sociability, improve livelihoods and help build communities, let us as employees be mindful of such little things such as energy and water conservation as well as littering which inevitably affects the top line growth of our business’.

Geared towards renewing the company’s commitment to its employees, the long service awards was instituted several years ago, to boost staff morale and encourage talent retention in the premier brewery.

The Director of Human Resource, Mr. Ania Akature emphasized on the importance of employees in building the brand and image of a viable entity such as Accra Brewery. He noted ‘we work and win in teams across the business in ABL which is why we look forward to the long service awards as another opportunity to demonstrate the value the company places on employees who are the company’s enduring advantage.

We will continue to harness and develop the talents of our workforce through periodic training and personal development as exemplified in last three years when ABL invested GHC 2,756,000.00 in the development and training of its talents to meet the brewery’s expansion project.

The End of Year and Long Service awards brought together management, employees and their families who were entertained for their hard work during the 2014-2015 financial years.
