Okyeman Bans 2 NDC Capos

The Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region has banned two executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) namely, Messrs Bismarck Tawiah Boateng and Appau Wiredu Haruna, from entering the king’s palace.

Bismarck is the Regional Chairman whiles Haruna is the Youth Organizer of the party in the region.

A letter from the Council and signed by its Assistant State Secretary, D.M Ofori-Atta, said the two NDC executives had been banned for disrespecting the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, over the past three years.

This was in response to a letter indicating the regional minister’s visit to the palace on Friday, April 1, 2016.

“The Council wishes to indicate their displeasure at the disrespectful conduct of the two gentlemen against the person of His Majesty Okyenhene over the past three years and thus will be unable to tolerate their presence at the Ofori Panin Fie,” the letter indicated.

The missive was addressed to the Eastern Regional Minister, Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong and the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council Secretariat.

“I am directed by the Kyebi Executive Council to inform your outfit with regards to your scheduled visit to the Ofori Panin Fie on Friday, April 1, 2016, that Mr. Bismarck Tawiah Boateng and Appau Wiredu Huruna, Eastern Regional Chairman and Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) respectively, are not welcomed to the Ofori Panin Fie,” it stated.

The Abuakwa Traditional Council has however, indicated that they have no issues with the rank and file of the party, including its leadership, whom they are ready and willing to welcome to the palace – except the two.
