The long awaited New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary to elect a Parliamentary candidate for the 2016 elections for the Ablekuma West constituency is scheduled for Saturday, 9th April, 2015 with two aspirants set to battle it out instead of the initial three.

Kasapafmonline.com reported that Theophilus Tetteh, a former Constituency Chairman who is a contender failed to turn up for the vetting with an official communication to the regional chairman indicating his unpreparedness to be part of the process.

The election was delayed following confusion over the constituency’s voters’ register.

Currently, three persons are in the race namely; the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Roni Nicole and Teo Tetteh.

But speaking to Kasapa FM’s Maame Broni, NPP Director of Elections Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah noted Mr. Tetteh has not been disqualified though he is not part of the polls.

According to him, he could only be disqualified if he had turned up for the vetting and the committee was unsatisfied, but his failure to partake in the process indicates he wouldn’t be part of the election.

Notice of poll shows the incumbent Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and Mr. Roni Nicole are the aspirants in tomorrow’s polls.
