Zanetor Rawlings Slogs Child Access Arbitration Process In Disregard For Family Court

A Child access arbitration between Dr. Zanetor Agyeman – Rawlings and Mr. Herbert Mensah, father of Zanetor’s two daughters has dragged on for over six (6) months at the family court in Accra due to the uncompromising stands of the daughter of former President Rawlings and disputed NDC parliamentary Candidate elect for the Klottey Klottey constituency, according to family court official sources.

The simple family court arbitration process was initiated late 2015 by lawyers for Zanetor Rawlings after Mr. Herbert Mensah filed a motion at the juvenile court in Accra on November 24 2015 to have reasonable access to his two daughters, Zethe Maia Mensah 7 and Rhia Lyza Mensah 4.

In apparent and total disregard for the family court, the family unit and the arbitration process, Zanetor Rawlings has numerously either come to court late or boycotted the family court sittings without prior notice to the court, leaving her own lawyer Sheila Premo waiting on her on several occasions at the court premises. Court officials however say Mr. Herbert Mensah has constantly been in the family court on every sitting.

Although Mr. Herbert Mensah and Zanetor Rawlings themselves have refused to comment on the arbitration process, sources close to the two families reveal that the two children were only recently given access to their father Mr. Herbert Mensah for the first time during the Easter break this year since the arbitration process began over six(6) months ago.

Meanwhile, the two children in the centre of the family controversy were last Saturday night, April 9 2016, seen in the company of Nana Konadu Agyeman – Rawlings, mother of Zanetor Rawlings, at an adult event at the Ghana international conference centre in Accra during the celebration of the 70th birthday of Madam Joyce Aryee. Zanetor Rawlings, the mother of the children was however absent from the event which had patrons such as the chief justice, ministers of state, and other senior citizens in attendance.

When counsel for Zanetor Rawlings, was contacted by this reporter on phone for her reaction to her client’s lackadaisical behaviour towards the family court and the arbitration process, lawyer Sheila Premo told this reporter that she does not comment on processes in court and hang up on the reporter. It is unclear when the family court will be sitting next on this arbitration case.

Even though Zanetor Agyeman - Rawlings was absent from the family court hearing TuesdayMorning with the excuse of being out of the country, reports gathered by this reporter indicates that she lied to the court because she was seen at the Globe cinema in Adabraka allegedly causing confusion among constituents in the Klottey Korle constituency at a meeting patronised by high level NDC members including the Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Chairman of the Greater Accra NDC, Mr Ade Coker and other Regional Executives as well as Constituency Executives.
