Rawlings, Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, Pay Last Respects To JB Danquah (PHOTOS)

Flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo and stalwarts of the party, paid their last respects to slain Abuakwa North MP J B Danquah-Adu by filing past his body as he lay in state at the forecourt of the State House on Friday April 15.

Running mate to Mr Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife were among the dignitaries who filed past the body. Former President Jerry Rawlings also filed past the body, as well as several other dignitaries. President John Mahama and other state officials are also expected to be at the funeral ceremony of the late MP.


A family spokesman said after the ceremony at the State House, the late MP’s remains would be conveyed to Kyebi Adadientem in the Eastern Region, where his father was chief, for filing past.

Mr Amoah disclosed that following that the body will be taken to Akyem Tafo at 5pm Friday, where the funeral service will be held prior to interment on Saturday April 16, 2016.

The MP died on February 9, 2016, when he was stabbed to death at his residence at Shiashie in Accra allegedly by 19-year-old Daniel Asiedu. He was 50.
