NPP Entreats All To Take Part In Nationwide Limited Registration Exercise

The Electoral Commission of Ghana, from Thursday April 28th to Sunday May 8th, would be embarking on a nationwide limited Registration exercise.

The exercise is to among other things enable voters who have attained age 18 and those who qualified but were unable to register in the last registration exercise to do so.

Beyond the civic duty to register and vote, each and everyone should as a matter of urgency be part of the ‘change-process’, which starts with the  registration exercise.

Get-Out, Register, Vote and be part of the many who are clamouring for Good Governance, Economic and social prosperity, business-friendly environment, employment, safeguarding the public purse as well as Political integrity and accountability.

The New Patriotic Party is per this, entreating all to take part in the upcoming registration exercise and subsequently take a decision in the 2016 elections that will bring our dear nation prosperity and break the unending hardship.

The Electoral Commission should also put the necessary measures in place to ensure that the problems encountered during the 2014 limited registration exercise do not re-occur.

The under listed were the notable ones;

1.      Mal-functioning of machines and faulty cameras.

2.      Low/ inadequate publicity

3.      Shortage of registration materials (Challenge forms and Guarantee forms)

4.      Failure of EC officials to give daily print – out to Political Parties.

5.      Faulty/Malfunctioning batteries

.

6.      Late arrival of EC registration officials and lack of Commitment.

7.      Registration of minors and foreigners.

8.      Registration of persons with the use of NHIS cards.

9.      Interference by MCE’s, DCE and other Government functionaries.

10.  Arbitrary change of registration centres.

The Change agenda starts with the registration and all must endeavour to be part.
