NPP Kingpin Arrested Over Baah Acheamfour�s Attack

The Ashanti Regional Police have arrested the Kwesi Kyei, Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for masterminding the attack on his fellow party member, Baah Acheamfour.

Kyei, according to Police source, was arrested some few minutes after the Fox FM incident on Monday, April 25, 2016.

The Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the NPP is accused of hiring the machomen who stormed the studios of the Kumasi-based radio and subjected Baah Acheamfour, who was one of the panelists discussing political issues, to severe beatings.

ASP Mohammed Yusif Tanko, Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command, Tuesday, told journalists that Kyei was arrested moments after the attack but was granted police inquiry bail.

However, he was re-arrested on Tuesday and charged by the Police for two counts – assault and conspiracy to commit assault.

“According to the information that we have, it is Mr Kyei, who called the people to the scene because Mr. Kyei was the first person to be there to protest the presence of Mr. Baah Acheamfuor at Fox FM,” ASP Tanko narrated.

Baah Acheamfour, one of the fiercest critics of the Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday afternoon had the rudest shock of his life when he was beaten by macho men in the studios of Fox FM.

The well-built men attacked Acheamfour who is the Communications Director of NPP appendage “Save NPP Now” after he reportedly lambasted Nana Akufo-Addo for being behind the division in the elephant family.

He allegedly also condemned the recent fund raising campaign (Yi Bi Ma) launched by the NPP.
