Bantama MP Appeals To Ghana's First Ladies To Advise EC Boss

Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, NPP Member of Parliament for Bantama has appealed to former First Ladies of the Republic of Ghana to intervene in the Electoral Commission's decision to do away with its former logo.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Hon. Kokofu asked the First Ladies to sit the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Charlotte Osei down and advise her on her behaviour.

According to him, Ghanaians have been pushing for female leadership to bridge the male dominance at the helm of affairs in the country.

He noted that it's a good thing for ladies to be appointed to higher positions in the society but bemoaned the attitude of the current EC Boss.

To him, Madam Charlotte Osei is treading on a dangerous path for her adamant position on issues regarding the Commission with the recent issue being the change of the electoral body's logo.

Hon. Henry Kokofu further urged the EC Chairperson to take some lessons from the former Transport Minister Dzifa Attivor who resigned after being cited in scandalous bus rebranding deal.

Madam Charlotte Osei should "seek proper advice. She should seek proper knowledge for where she’s treading is slippery. It’s unacceptable!"
