Chiefs Must Stop Endorsing Politicians - B/A House Of Chiefs Prez

The President of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of Yeji, Nana Pemapem Yaw Kabrese V, has cautioned chiefs to desist from endorsing politicians ahead of the November polls.

Speaking on Atinka Midday News Friday on the rampant endorsement of politicians by some chiefs, Nana Pemeampe Yaw Kabrese opined that it is not right for a respected and trusted traditional ruler to involve him or herself in partisan politics.

Nana Kabrese observed that, traditional rulers only court needless disaffections for themselves if they try to endorse presidential candidates of political parties , adding such practices do not promote effective leadership.

He condemned the recent developments, saying it is very unfortunate and execrable to see chiefs on platforms endorsing and promising their support for political candidates. “Chiefs should leave politics for their people and keep their political affiliations secret to themselves,” he advised.

Nana Kabrese advised chiefs in the region to discard such attitudes in order to enhance peace and stability in their areas.
