Has something happened to Mr. Batidam at the Presidency? - Nduom Asks
It has been reported in the media that Presidential Advisor on Corruption and Governance, Daniel Batidam, has stated categorically that the Ghanaians expect too much from the government when it comes to fighting corruption.
He reportedly said: “Well it’s easy to say anybody is corrupt, . . . when it comes to prosecution that is where I think that sometimes we are expecting too much from the presidency or the executive arm of government in general.”
Has something happened to Mr. Batidam at the Presidency? He was known as an anti-corruption crusader so has he lost his spear and shield? When it comes to corruption, the rot that robs Ghana of at least $1 billion every year, there can be nothing as too much expectation. We must and will continue to pressurize all political administrations and all other arms of government until good progress is made. This is another reason to separate the Office of Attorney General from the Ministry of Justice and allow for independent prosecution.
And I want to know. Does President Mahama agree with his advisor on this?
