A man believed to be in his late forties (40) is at large after allegedly abandoning his wife Bernice Ofori, in the morgue for four (4) months.

The man, Kwame Ofori was said to have left the corpse at the morgue when the family of the deceased prevented him going on with the burial.

Brother of the deceased, Kofi Fosu disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Abrabo show Thursday.

He said they were in their family’s house one evening when Kwame Ofori together with his elder brother stormed their Koforidua residence to inform them of the death of his wife when he (Kwame Ofori) was away on a trip.

Since the father of five (5), Kwame Ofori has not fully performed the marriage rites of his deceased wife, he was said to have been prevented by the family not to bury the wife but wait for permission from the family before any decision is taken.

“Kwame was not fully married to my sister but they had five children and because of that he was directed by my family not to bury her but wait for directions,” he said.

Kofi Fosu said after Kwame Ofori was informed to hold on to the burial, he deposited his wife’s body at the morgue and fled. “Kwame is nowhere to be found after depositing the wife’s body at the morgue.

I have tried calling on several occasions since the family is now ready but he has since refused to give us a positive answer. All he tells me is that he is no more coming to bury his wife” he noted.
