We Must Re-Evaluate Our Personal Security Systems Extremely Seriously - Deputy Minority Leader Cautions

The Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, Dominic Nitiwul has expressed his greatest concern about the security systems in Ghana.

According to him, more than enough time have been spent by security experts to put on track strong and vibrant security systems in this country, which have left us in fear and panic even when we are in our rooms or homes.

The Deputy Minority Leader in parliament angrily said the law enforcement agencies must act quickly to stir-up security in the country following an earlier concerned statement raised few days ago in the same house by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin in the Ashanti Region, Isaac Osei bordering on the increase in robbery cases, community clashes in Tafo, Nomadic herdsmen related clashes in Agogo and high present violent crimes in the country.

Dominic Nitiwul categorically noted that “one can choose to fix in his/her house the most strongest metal gate consisting of the unbreakable metal iron but would still feel upset in your own house that somebody would attack you, … Mr Speaker, it is unfortunate that the primary responsibility of every government, state institution or popularly the security forces is to protect life’s and properties particularly human lives.

Therefore, I fully endorse the statement by my honorable colleague Isaac Osei, MP for Subin that as a state whether from parliament which is an arm of government or the executives we should re-evaluate our personal securities extremely seriously, even If we would have to ask the assemblies as a government policy to buy closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera’s and fix them at areas that we suspect are violent oriented spots”
