Three Police officers have been arrested by the Ashanti regional Police command over the killing of a 22-year-old man at Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi.
The officers who were chasing an alleged criminal, arrested and brutalized the deceased, who residents have described as innocent on Friday.
Subsequently, the regional Police commander DCOP Kofi Boakye visited the area and assured irate residents that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
The three officers were arrested under the instruction of the regional police commander, the deputy regional Police commander DCOP Ampofo Doku has stated.
“The basis for their arrest is that they arrested somebody and the person died. They are in custody, their statement will be taken and then investigations will continue. For now, nothing incriminating has been established against them,” he said.
