Andre Ayew honoured to win SWAG personality and footballer of the year award

Black Stars deputy captain Andre Ayew is honored to win both the SWAG personality and footballer of the year award in Ghana.
 
Ayew was named the most influential Sports personality and footballer in 2015 after his outstanding performance for both Club and country.

The 26-year-old played a vital role to help the Black Stars finish in a second position at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations scoring three goals at the tournament to finish as the top scorer.

The Swansea City ace also finished as the top scorer in his team at the end of the 2015/16 English Premier League season.

The former Olympique Marseille ace who led Ghana to secure a ticket to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations after a 2-0 win over Mauritius is delighted with the awards as the Sports personality and footballer of the year.

“I think is a nice feeling. It is the second time I am winning the footballer of the year. I am very happy, I am proud,” he told reporters.

“I want to thank my colleagues both in Europe and the Black Stars. Nothing is possible without hem so I have to thank all the Black Stars players.

“I want to thank the players in my Club. Marseille, Swansea and hopefully this award can bring more.”

The former Ghana U20 skipper scooped the footballer of the year award in 2011.
