Residents of Accra, were on Thursday reminded of the terrifying nature of floods that can wreak havoc whenever the country experiences any form of major downpour.
Several parts of the capital remained inaccessible as hours of torrential rains earlier in the day left vehicle drivers and commuters distressed at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
Dizzying images of submerged vehicles and commuters stranded by the floods captured by PeaceFm/Utv News reporters at Circle clearly show the capital is still at risk of a potential major catastrophe.
Some pedestrains can be seen seeking shelter at vantage points to escape the floods.
The entire Kwame Nkrumah Circle have been flooded and movements have been curtailed by the waters.
According to Prince Ahenkan of Utv, there is heavy military presence.
The military officers are at the scene with canoes to rescue the affected people.
