Zlatan calls on PSG team-mate to join him at Man Utd

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly called on his PSG team-mate Marco Verratti to join him at Manchester United this summer.

Reports in Italy over the weekend suggested Jose Mourinho was planning an eye-watering £79million approach for the Italian playmaker this summer and wants to build his team around him at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic himself is expected to confirm his own move to Manchester United following the European Championships, with his move delayed in order to allow him to secure a loyalty bonus for honouring his contract at the Parc des Princes. The Swedish showman admitted recently he was enjoying the circus surrounding his impending move to Manchester United and there’s little doubting the player brings with him plenty of attention.

But reports in the Corriere dello Sport claim Ibrahimovic is trying to persuade Verratti to join him at Old Trafford after an injury-hit campaign in Ligue 1.

Verratti’s current deal with PSG runs until 2020 and the French champions are expected to resist any advance from United

It is thought United will offer Verratti a £6.7 million-a-season deal to try and tempt him to Manchester.

Verratti joined PSG in 2012 for £9.5million from Pescara, helping them to four league titles and one French cup.

But the 2015/16 season was disrupted by injury, with a groin problem eventually costing the player a place in Italy’s Euro 2016 squad.
