Barbaric: Husband Allegedly Pours Acid On WifeNo Justice After 2yrs

An acid victim, Joyce Frimpong is peeved over what she describes as delay on the part of the Attorney General’s Department to seek justice for her after suffering a near-fatal acid attack allegedly by her husband.

According to her, she feels justice would be denied her due to the long delay in prosecuting her assault case.

The visibly distraught mother of three said she has been seeking for justice for the past two years, but the State is yet to conclude investigations into her case.

She criticized the Attorney General’s Department for their ‘lackadaisical attitude’ towards her case since the assault was reported to the authorities.

According to her, even though her husband, Mr. Yaw Frimpong Adarkwah, has been in custody since the attack, the State has failed to press charges against him. The docket on the case, she suspects, may have been misplaced by the prosecutors, hence, the uncertainty.

Speaking to the Daily Heritage moments after the court had adjourned her case to July 6, the mother of three said she needs help to take care of her children.

“We have been going to court for about a year now and up to now I don’t know what is happening to my case. The judge advised me to go to the Attorney General’s office and when I went there they told me they have received the docket and that they are working on it so when they are done they will send it back to the police headquarters and it will be forwarded to court. Now when I call them, they no longer pick up.

“All I want is for his family to pay me back the money I spent treating myself because that was all I had. And they must also help me take care of the three children we have together. Because of my current condition, I am unable to undertake difficult jobs, but I have to because I need to cater for the children,” she stressed.
