The Akatsi District Police Command has launched a manhunt for a teacher in Akatsi for allegedly butchering his wife.

Adome Emmanuel, a tutor of Wlutey RC Basic School, believed to be in his early 30s, was on Saturday, June 18 reported to have butchered his wife, Dzotefe Fortune.

It is unclear what instigated the cruel act, but eyewitnesses say the woman went to his residence to pick up their daughter when the incident occurred.  

Emmanuel, after allegedly committing the purported atrocity, went into hiding.

The victim, an employee of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), under the National Youth Employment Programme, is currently receiving treatment at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

However, the Akatsi District Police Command says they have commenced investigations into the case, and mounted an intense search to apprehend Emmanuel Adome.

They are, therefore, calling on the general public to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the teacher.
