A prisoner at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison near Cape Coast in the Central Region has had his penis cut off after refusing to allow his colleague prisoner to sodomise him.
Sources say the incident happened at about 9:00am Monday September 5 in one of the cells – Cell One Block B.
The victim was given first aid treatment by prison wardens and transferred to the Interberton Hospital in Cape Coast for surgery.
The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has taken over the case for investigation.
