Mahama Has Constructed An International Airport?...Certainly Not In Kumasi! Wontumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, says he is yet to see the much-talked about international airport that President Mahama and the NDC government claim to have constructed in Kumasi.

The NPP regional boss says Ghanaians should ask President Mahama where exactly the airport which he has touted as international is situated because as far as he is concerned, he does not see anything international about it.

"Paul you call this an international airport; you have travelled far and wide do you see this Kumasi Airport as international?" the NPP Chairman queried.

Speaking on the flagship Good Evening Show hosted by Paul Adom Otchere on Tuesday, Chairman Wontumi asked Ghanaians to demand accountability from President Mahama and his NDC government about the contractual sum of the project.

The NPP Chairman, who was reacting to a statement by the host on claims by President Mahama that his government has done enough in the region including the construction of an international airport, said the President had done virtually nothing in the region except bringing untold hardships to Ghanaians, particularly people in the region.

According to him, there are clear evidence to the contrarily as far as the contractual sum was concerned, stressing that the figure is far far below the $29m amount quoted by government.

"Paul we brought engineers to come and value the project and they said clearly that this project shouldn't cost more than $4m. If the President says he has built an international airport, then its not in Kumasi here," He said.

The NPP regional chairman further noted "All the NDC and President Mahama know is to squander our money; corruption is all that they know," He said.
