GII Report Bogus; Bawumia Is Rather Selling Hope To Ghanaians Karbo

Deputy Communication Director of the NPP, Anthony Abayifa Karbo has rubbished claims by the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) that, NPP’s running mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia recent gesture to the Amedzofe College of Education (AMECO) was to amass vote.

According to GII, Dr. Bawumia’s borehole he constructed for the school was a “last minute” move “aimed at securing votes.”

Dr. Bawumia in June 2016, cut the sod for the construction of a mechanized borehole for AMECO in the Ho-West District of the Volta Region.

The NPP running mate is said to have initiated the project in fulfillment of a promise he made to the school in a bid to address the perennial water problem confronting the institution.

But GII in a report released on Friday dubbed: “Reducing abuse of incumbency and electoral corruption in Ghana’s election 2016,” said the move clearly was to secure votes.

However, Anthony Abayifa Karbo in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ says the claim by GII is “bogus and useless” – “They can’t say that about a party still fighting to come to power

Karbo who is also an assistant to Dr. Bawumia noted that – “What Dr Bawumia is selling to Ghanaians is hope, courage and determination. If you give water to people you have given them life, so if Dr Bawumia did that, then there is hope”.
