NDC Will Shock NPP In Ashanti Region Kofi Adams

The ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] is likely to garner an extremely high number of votes from the Ashanti Region which is known to be the ‘world bank’ of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] as far as this year's elections are concerned.

According to Kofi Adams, the NDC will “Shock” the ‘Elephant’ in its own playing ground in the upcoming elections

He emphasized that – numerous developmental projects executed by the Mahama-led administration will clinch them “historic votes” in the history of Ghana’s election.

All the projects are there in the region for everyone to see – we don’t have to brag about this,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed ‘Ghana Montie’.

National Organiser and Campaign coordinator, Kofi Adams further noted that the NDC upon a survey, has upped its target votes in the Ashanti Region - he told host Nana yaw Kesse that - the party now hopes to obtain 1.5 million votes instead of the previous 1 million votes.

In the last elections in 2012, the NDC’s John Mahama obtained 612,616 votes representing 28.35% percent of total valid votes cast in the region. His main opponent, Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP garnered 1.531, 152 representing 70.86% of the votes cast.

But the NDC has expressed optimism to triple its share of votes which seems partly to be the reason for lavish campaign launch in the region last Saturday.
