Mr Alex Segbefia, the Minister of Health, has asked the electorate not to gamble with their future at the December Polls and vote for President John Dramani Mahama.
“It is natural for you to criticise government policies, but cherish what you have and don’t gamble with your future,” he stated.
Mr Segbefia said this when he inaugurated a 400 capacity-classroom block with a laboratory, conference room, stores, and staff rooms for the Ho Nurses Training College.
The facility, estimated at GHC1.2 million, was funded by Mr Benjamin Kpodo, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, with support from individuals and institutions.
Mr Segbefia said the NDC Government had delivered and cautioned the citizenry to be careful what they asked for and not to believe promises by opposition parties.
He reassured the student nurses of the commitment of Government to restore their allowances and said the delay was due to technical hitches.
Mr Segbefia said the construction and expansion of health training institutions and hospitals were to create comfortable work and academic environment for nurses with plans to produce more nurses for export and asked them to appreciate the Government.
Mr Kpodo said the facility was to help the College increase its admission by 32 per cent and explained, “This is not a dream realised for me but a hope restored for prospective students.”
He said the initiative was also in line with the Government’s commitment to increasing access to education and investing in human resources.
Mrs Josephine Ansu-Gyeabour, the Principal of the College, commended Mr Kpodo for the support, and appealed to the Government for a bus and accommodation for staff and students.
