Mass Defection Hits Atwima Nwabiagya North NDC

Hundreds of supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency in the  Ashanti region have defected en masse to the  opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) on the grounds that there is too much hardship and lies under Mahama-Amissah Arthur-led government.

According to the defectors, the government promised to build Ghana in a resilient manner to soften things but looking at what is going on, there is too much pressure on Ghanaians as poverty and hardship is virtually taking over every home.

“We thought we have had our savior to salvage us from the sufferings we were going through but it turned out we were wrong. So we are going to join the NPP to vote them out”, they stressed.

A branch woman organizer at Asuofia- Asamang, who was a card-carrying member of the ruling NDC, Miss Doris Addai, speaking at a press conference said, under the NPP government, Ghanaians were not suffering like what we are seeing now and it is a clear picture that the NPP really thinks about Ghanaians’ welfare.

According to her, they are women and it is sad they have supported the NDC and nothing good is coming from anywhere and that all their leaders know is grabbing contracts and properties.

“We the women wing of the NDC believe that it is time Ghanaians voted massively for the NPP to save the country from sinking”, she appealed.

The NHIS NPP introduced during ex-president Kuffour administration has collapsed and it is very sad for Ghanaians to vote for the NDC to continue to stay in power.

Placards with inscriptions like: NPP Bra,NDC Monka Nokore,No More Mahama,Nana Nie President Nie, NHIS Destroying and others were displayed during the press conference.

Welcoming them, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency, Hon. Benito Bio on his part said, the NPP as a political party has more policies to grow the country and create more jobs to better the lives of Ghanaians.

He said, under the erstwhile Kuffour’s admiration, banks were chasing people for loans, the economy was resilient but what we see today is like Ghana is in hell and we cannot afford to vote for them anymore.

Hon. Benito Bio charged them to stay calm and campaign vigorously for Nana Addo and him to lead Ghana and the constituency respectively to ensure the positive change the NPP is campaigning on comes to pass.
